Whats the longest Rod you use? If you use one over 7 foot, what and why such a long rod?

I use an 8' for big swimbaits and it's either 7'10 or 7'11" for crankbaits. I'm not 6' lol

Use 7'11" for throwing deep cranks and big swimbaits. I am 5'8" on a good day.

I have 8' rods I use for swimbaits, crankbaits and punching. They help make all 3 a lot easier for me.

7'7" for A-rigs and 10XD's. I'm 6'2". I only have 1 rod under 7' and it's a spinnerbait rod. I prefer longer rods.

I'm 6'6" but unless you're tossing around 12 inch huds, a 7'6" in whatever action will get the job done. I've got a couple 7'11" crankbait rods but my favorite one is a 7'6" for 6-8XD's and a 7'9" for 10XD.

Thats my money fish

I have 3 rod setups that are 9ft and I'm 6'-4".

(These are my fly rods but I still fish for bass from the front deck of my Skeeter.)

I am 6'10". Longest rod I have is a 7'-10" MH Moderate for deep cranks.

Majority of my rods are between 7' and 7'-6". Only have one under 7' and that is my Jerkbait rod.

I have an 805 Dobyns crankbait rod that is awesome for throwing deep divers a long way allowing them to run deeper.
I have an 805 Dobyns Texas C-Rig rod that is great for makeing long casts, taking up the slack and using long leaders.
Then I have a 806 Dobyns swimbait rod that handles the big swimbaits and Alabama rigs.
When you use these rods you'll soon really appreciate the added length. I'm 6'2" but my oldest boy (Pake) is thirteen and is about 5'1" and he uses these rods all the time with no issues. In fact, he wants more longer rods. We fish a lot off shore and the longer rods are definately a benifit. However, if you fish in tighter to the shore or around cover or boat docks the shorter rods shine.
I remember the days when I thought a 7' rod was long and the 6'6" rods where just about the majority of what people fished with. Now the shortest rod in my day to day arsenal is 7'. In the end use what you are comfortable with.

At times I fish more traditional techniques, but I'm primarily a swimbait guy. The shortest rods I use are Dobyns 795 MLSB for medium sized swimbaits and A-rigs. I also own various 8' swimbait rods from Dobyns including an 806SB and 807SB along with an 867 MAG and a 908 Ultra MAG that give me the ability to make long casts with my largest profile swimbaits. I have a couple of other 8' rods that I had custom wrapped because 20 years ago we didn't have access to quality production swimbait sticks that would effectively fish 8 to 10 inch baits.
I'm 6'4" and long levered but the length of those rods have much more to do the baits I throw than my physical profile.
