Any of you old guys had problems with tennis elbow from fishing? I'm going to try PRP treatment next week, wondering if anyone has tried it. Any other solutions?

Did the cortisone shot in elbow and wrist on right side and wrist on left. Pain free thank God!

Once you do the damage it is hard to reverse; but it can be done with proper rest and treatment. Your doctor will help with that. Here are the 3 things that I do to make sure it does not come back.
- Forearm compression while fishing. Keeping pressure on the forearm muscle using the tennis elbow compression band has really helped. Also take Tylenol before the pain gets too bad.
- I use the Irest Machine device to send the impulses to the forearm, elbow and wrist before I start the fishing day and after the fishing day at home. This takes about 20 minutes of treatment each time. These devices can be purchased for around $100 on Amazon.
- Proper exercises with the 3 long rubber bands sold at Walmart. The instructions in the box with the bands will give you those exercises to perform daily to strengthen the elbow and forearm. Start with the lighter tension band and advance to the higher tension band. These are color coded in 3 different color bands. There are three exercises which are the pitching motion, cross body pull and fly away motion. Do 3 sets of 25 in each direction daily.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

yeah I have this issue. I think I will try the cortizone shot. Sounds promising. I am 39 now so I would love to find a fix now rather than later.

I've been having that problem for the last 6 months. Forearm compression bandage helps but Dr. meds and ice hasn't cured it. Cortisone shot is next option.

What is PRP?

I'm just starting to get over having surgery from fishing related issues.

Never thought that fishing could be so dangerous and expensive. $28,000 for this scar.

Had the PRP done 3 yrs ago and the elbow is still good. The only problem was my insurance would not cover it.
