I will be fully retired on Wednesday.  I'm not supposed to know this but my coworkers are having a custom made 7' MH rod made for me. Gotta love them folks! I'm planning on spending $200 on a bait cast reel to complete the package. What reel would you put on it? Thanks Y'all.

Im an Abu garcia Fan so Id buy a Revo premier 7:1. But many will say Lews BB1 pro or shimano curardo.

Cant go wrong with anything in Shimanos line up in that price range. Gear ratio would depend on what you want to do with the rod. Congrats on the retirement!

Congrats!!!!! Basspro has Abu premier and rockets on sale. 299 down to 129 and 149. I have a few of each and like them. I also like my Lews and curados. I celebrated my third year of retirement this week. You will love it!!!!! Stay busy and good luck.

I have my list of things to do and my wife has her list as well. Her list overrules mine but beats a good day at work.

I have a BB1 Pro and a Revo Premier. They are both great reels but that Revo Premier is my favorite.

Very nice. I have a little bit of everything but prefer my Revos. Just fit and cast better for me. My Shimanos are my least favorite. Doesnt mean they are not good. For higher line capacity that BB1 is tough to beat.

Just your budget a little and get the Solano Chronarch Mal. Or if you just gotta adhere to that $200 get the new Curado K series.
