The AR in AR15 does not stand for assault rifle, but it is an assault rifle built for the purpose of killing people though it has other uses, none of them very logical.

AR = Automatic Rifle
15 is the number of shells the clip will hold
AK=Automatic Killer
47=holds 47 shells in the clip

If the rifle was not men fractured by Armalite shouldn't be called by some other name besides AR?
