Been out on Ray Roberts for roughly 12 hours in the last 3 weeks and this doesn't apply to me either. Water from 46-50

Yeah if those lakes dip in the upper 40s its not long. Lakes in north Texas been in the 40s pretty much for 2 months. My last time to Bridgeport it got up to 46 by end of day.

Those numbers are dependant on location and presentation. If you get one or both wrong youre gonna find even fewer bites. Been there.

If you can't find em wind em.

I got off Fork this winter and fished a cold water lake full of grass and had several 15-20 fish days on chatterbaits and jigs in water in the 47-49 degree range. All fish in thick grass no deeper than 7 ft. Went to Fork Sunday and finally found some good milfoil late in the day and put 4 in the boat pretty quick just before wind and rain started. Water was in the 40s main lake and 53-54 over the grass. They would not touch a chatterbait Sunday, threw it most of the day and in the area I caught fish without a sniff. They wanted a fluke super slow. Water temps dropped from 53-49 in the area I caught fish in after rain and wind started and bite stopped. Btw all the areas with grass were covered up Sunday with boats. Agree with numbers posted unless you can find some thick grass in the right areas not getting hammered with pressure.

Rayburn and Toledo were high 40s in Jan. Some of the biggest sacks I have caught have been sub 50.

We went out on our maiden voyage for 2018 to a little East Texas Lake and caught 8 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Water was 51 degress. Pake caught this beauty that went 8.39 I think we would have had similar results if the water was a little cooler. But I sort of agree with James Biggs. While you don't usually catch numbers in Jan-Feb water temps the size is there.

females stage together during this time of year. a 20 yard stretch can hold 30 pounds easy if you can find it. the ones ive ever found where in places you wouldn't even expect to fish. that's why there are so many zeroes and a huge sack wins.

Hey Brian. That's a good looking fish and young man you have there. Reminds me of a family back home in Mississippi with some serious up and coming anglers if you can't tell by their names....oldest boy is Lake and youngest is Fin. My daughter went to school with Lake.

To get less bites but for the quality to be better than usual.

Fished Whitney today for 4 hours and only caught a striper on a square bill. Got there at 10:30 and water temp was 44 degrees. This cold rain did a number.
