I love my Ulterra. You can trim it up and get in to really shallow places. Like when my wife gets hung up almost to the bank. Use the Spot Lock to hold your position so you can fish and not worry about having to stand on the troll motor. In rough water you just hit the button and it will stow or deploy. No bending over.

Same here, I love my Ulterra. I took the pedal out because I never used it, and closed over my recessed tray. Everyone wants a pedal for some reason though.

A pedal leaves two hands for fishing.
I'm not nearly good enough to cast and reel with one hand. The pedal on my Ultrex lets me fish and it's as easy as pedaling a bike. Don't ever think about it. It's an extension of my feeble mind. Lol. When it's time to work over a spot real good, I tap the big button to the right. And anchor down.
I have the big [censored] remote with the rough screen. I seldom ever use it. ....and I've used the Bluetooth function with my iPhone once ..to update the software on the unit.
Each trolling motor has its pluses.
For me, I NEED complete control of my TM. I fish close to docks and stumps. A lot. A cable and a pedal was a must.
Someday soon, I bet, there will be an "Ultrexxa" and it will have auto stow and deploy, power trim, electric assit cable steer, and a 360/SI/DI/US2. It will cost $5000 and only link to a Solix or something.
Soon, we will not be able to afford to catch and release a stupid fish. Ha

As for me at 73 the stow and deploy feature is the game changer as my balance is not what it used to be.

One of the things I have seen mentioned more than a couple times on other sites in regard to the Ulterra,is that anglers will use the remote from the pilot seat then use the foot pedal when up on the front deck.
I am working on the install of mine, but I am looking forward to the low profile of the pedal, and being able to move it around.
