What is a good rod to throw 7" senkos around some buck brush and such in the shallows. Last year I felt a bit underpowered on a 7' MH carbonlite. I just ordered a revo rocket pick up the line, just looking for the right rod to pull the big girls to the boat. Under $200 preferably.

Falcon Jason Christie Series pitch and skip JCC-611H
Light, sensitive, plenty of power --It's rated as Heavy, but feels softer with good parabolic bend (doesn't feel in any way like a broomstick)--good for pitching weightless or lightly weighted big plastics into thick cover.

Power Tackle $$ 1/2
Loomis IMX $$
Duckett $ 1/2

Google each to find the 7' rod you want. 'White Ice' on the Duckett.

G Loomis makes a great Senko rod. I have the Mossyback 893 which is 7'5 Med Heavy and sells for $265. It also comes in the E6X series for $200. I love the action for Senkos. It may be longer than you are looking for but I love the extra length for pitching and long casts. (I believe it also comes in the IMX for $295).

I just bought a St. Croix BassX 7'4" MH ($110) and paired it with a Shimano Curado 7.2:1 ($200) and I almost want to replace every other rig in my boat. The 7'4" rod is longer but I can cast a weightless rigged Senko a pretty good distance with little effort.

Whatever rod brand you choose I would get one with a lure rating of 3/8-1oz. That should be stout enough and still give you some tip action.

I prefer a rod in the 6ft 8in to 6ft 10in for this technique because I work the bait with the tip down so a rod shorter than 7ft just works better for me.
