Good day on Dunlap...things r heating up. The surface water temp is 70 degrees and very clear. Fished from 8:30 to 3:30 using night crawlers. Fished upper third of lake...got real windy, but found shelter by a bluff where the depth went from 1 ft to 25 ft real fast. Ended up with 5 bass, 3 catfish, 6 real nice red ear, and maybe 25 assorted bluegill. All released except 1 catfish and 1 gut hooked red ear.

Nice! Thanks for posting. I was hoping that you would say the crappie are waking up also. I'm ready!

I am a lousy Crappie fisherman, so you probably wont get a decent report from me...On another note...I noticed in the live well when I took out the red ear there were small pieces of pecan shells (some still had pecan in the shell).
Then I started thinking that if they eat snails (hard shells) they might just crack and eat pecans ?? The squirrels drop pecan shell pieces from the trees over the water. This could explain why the two best spots are under pecan tree overhanging limbs ?? Any thoughts ?

That is a darned interesting observation and question.
Id say examining their stomach contents would be a good place to start maybe?

Love the gold color of the first fish! Weird about the pecans since the trees drop them in September and are bare now. Mice in your livewell?
