I arrived home from work this morning with the wind almost blowing me off the road. No honey do�s, I�m going fishing! I grabbed my things and hauled butt before the wife could change her mind! The wind was blowing all different directions in the creek. You could make a perfect cast and at the last second, your line would redirect 10 feet from the target. Anyway, started out the slam with a crappie. When there�s one, there should be more, not in this story. I moved on down the creek, bombed a 10 foot cast, twitch twitch, line tightened, set the hook and caught the slob! I seriously think this fish is a resident of this specific area. He was in 2 feet of water feasting on ghost minnows. Moving on down, caught a sack full of sandies. The size of the fish were disappointing at first, but they started getting bigger as the day ticked on. This is my home water and no doubt my favorite. I know some of you are probably shaking your heads, but I grew up fishing this scenic stretch of water. I�ve seen this place transform many times over the years. If this rain does what it�s suppose to, well you all know, get ready. Don�t forget your 6 weight! The striped suits will be in full force! Cheers!
