Are either of the ramps off of 334 on the north end of Cedar Creek lake still open to the public and usable? Haven't launched up there in years. Just looking for a place to avoid some of the tournament traffic out of log cabin and the ramp off of 198.

Not sure about the two on the far north end. Lone Star Marina is on the west side of the lake about mid lake. It used to be Don's Port. Their site says you can launch there for a $10.00 fee.

We launched out of Chamber Island the last High School tournament there a few months ago. Not many boats there at all, ramp was fine, plenty of parking.

Good to know. TPWD says there is parking for 50. I'm always looking for someplace other than Log Cabin to host our tournament.

Just get there early and Log cabin will be fine. Now getting there an hour before start time might be a cluster. They have so long to get back to the ramp to weigh in isnt that bad. I would rather put in there then try and park at weigh in and have to walk in half a mile.

I understand. Been going there for years. It kills me that if you aren't in the first 20 boats, you park in the mud. They need to pave or at least rock the parking lot. It's a mess trying to get your truck and trailer if it's been raining. But there is no real competition for them. I got roasted here last year for saying the same thing but it's true.

No doubt. And they are saying up to 4in down here this week. Could be an epic mess in that pasture they call a parking lot.

There are usually a ton of people out there so its scares off most of the wild animals. I agree the parking lot is a mess for the number of tourneys that go out of there. Plus having no real barrier or parking lanes people park all kinds of jacked up. Didnt even think about the rain factor all week. Messy messy. Might have to throw some boards in the truck bed just in case. I heard it is going to be a really big turn out too. Gonna need some patients this weekend for sure.

Are they building a new ramp on the west side of the dam?, that new real estate on the other side of caney would be prime too. Regardless I would stay away from there this weekend, those high school tournaments are an accident waiting to happen IMO

Cedar Creek is the largest lake I know of with so few public(or fee) ramps available to the public.

Yes, both of those ramps are open and usable. The one on the east side (Big Chief's) has limited parking. The other one has quite a bit of parking.

I hear ya on sunny glen. This ramp is right on the highway, It may be what below guy is calling big chiefs. I felt ok leaving my truck there, very visible to lots of homes and highway traffic.

there is a dedicated truck/trailer parking area within about 100 yards from the ramp. Holds a BUNCH of rigs.
