We use ours for things that are regularly hacked.... like gas pumps and online orders. Better than your debit card which will drain your accounts and savings and up to you to get it back. Which you may not. Paid off monthly. No debt here. Got a nice miter saw with the points a couple months ago.
And I know who "Jeff" is.

Citi American Airlines Advantage is great if you fly even occasionally.
Free bag if you are a cardholder. For you AND a guest.
That's $50 off on a solo round trip. $100 if it's you and the wife flying . Again even if you only fly a handful of times a year it's worth it. We’ve been usin the same card for the last 10 years or so. Put everything we can on it and pay it off monthly. Been back and forth from Hawaii twice now, numerous domestic flights, and just booked a Europe trip. Not paying airfare sure makes vacations more affordable.

Aren't you just getting back some overcharged interest on cash back cards? The credit card companies charge the merchant about 2% or more for every credit card transaction so the merchant has to inflate the price of his product to cover this fee. The people that don't use credit cards still have to pay this inflated price, so, the credit card users that are getting all the free money are actually getting the non- users money too. There are other ways credit companies make money too such as annual fees, transaction fees, etc....
To whom much is given, much is required.

I use a BOFA 123 card and have one for kids too. We put almost everything on it. I get back close to $1k annual. I have a Citibank card with a large limit and use it now and then just to keep it active. Having the big credit line helps the score. I pay the cards off in full monthly.

I have both personal credit cards and credit cards for my business that are all paid off monthly. Anything and I mean anything that can be paid with a credit card gets paid with a credit card. I haven't paid to stay in a hotel in 3 years and I spend about 90 nights a year in a hotel and only one of the cards is a hotel rewards card, the other 2 are cash-back.

Just ordered a Ranger Boat with the points earned with my Cabela's card. Granted it is an RT178 and I have been saving for over a decade, but still, when that thing comes in I will be a happy camper.

I have the Chase Southwest Card, love it. Signed up when they were offering 50,000 Points if you spent $1,000 in the first 3 months. Easily done and paid for while using as business card

I have one credit card, Capital One Venture card. We use the points for airline miles since we like to travel, but it has other options. Pay it off each month and earn rewards at 1.5% on everything and 2% on some things. It's been good for us but I will warn it doesn't work out for you if you carry a balance.
I would pay everything in my budget with it if I could.

Chase Mileage Plus Explorer. I haven't had to purchase a plane ticket in years.
