On Bridgeport yesterday. We didn't wear them out or anything. We only caught 3. What are yall's real expectations when fishing water this cold?

Bridgeport one of the best cold water lakes Agreed. Clear water or lakes with grass are much better in the winter.

I would expect a lot of bites. I personally think it's the best time of year to fish in December and January

Toledo Bend and Rayburn have been on fire this month.. What's the water temperature on those lakes? This thread is about fishing water temps below 50 degrees. There will always be some people who find and catch good sacks in cold water, but most people will struggle. We caught one fish on Palestine this month and beat over half the field. Everyone looks at the top of the leaderboard, sees 27 pounds, and thinks "they are HAMMERING them on Lake XXXXX." Look farther down the list to see how many teams caught limits...and how many caught a fish or two or zeroed. I can't give any good advice about fishing cold water because I suck at it.

I know its different where im at but I kill them from 36-42 on certain lakes around here then it seems to die off a little in the mid 40s for some reason. Likely I just cant find them.
