We got on the water at 7 last night and got off at midnight. The fishing was a little slow. We probably only caught 30 fish in that 5 hour period but some nice ones were caught. The fish have left their nighttime northern areas and are heading back down the lake. The wind was blowing pretty good and that had something to do with their inactivity. It was still better than sitting at home!! This fish weighed around 15 pounds. It was over 30 inches. We had several in the 10-12 pound range as well.

Nice fish Joe. How far North were you going when they were that direction?

There are a couple of lights on past willow beach towards the airport. No further north than that.

Joe: Have you used any of these portable lights? http://www.cabelas.com/product/QUARROW-LED-FISHING-LIGHTS/2066921.uts?slotId=3I was thinking about using these last summer but got distracted by catching crappie off dock lights. A guide might be able to drop a few of these on points where fish are and give yourself more places to fish. When I have caught stripers off Green lights in the past they usually get gone after I catch a few. Sand bass don't seem to wise up, but the stripers seem to disappear after I boat a few.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.

Weve been casting from a good distance to lighted docks so the fish stay around a while. But yes after a few fish are caught they will move out. We just move to another of the many docks available. It gives us a chance to put gloves on to warm our hands a bit. Lol I let the dock owners spend the money for my fishing lights.

We do the same thing. When the striper leave we go to another dock. If you give it about an hour they will move back in. You can fish the same dock numerous times during the night.

I'm with Jeff. I now have 93 lighted docks to choose from. No way I can fish them all. I just fish the area where I know the fish are. No need for portable lighting. Going again tonight, I have a guide trip.
