Run it... If you ran it all day with it open and didn't notice and performance issues what makes you think anything is wrong???... Dan

After it sits still a day or 2 disconnect fuel hose at motor. Pump about a gallon into a clear container & set it on workbench. Any water in tank will seperate & you'll know if water got in tank.
If you've got a water/fuel separator filter, change filter & pull sample from "Inlet side" of sepeeator. That's the easiest check.
If you've got no water in sample you're probably good to go.
If a large amount of water, empty tank & refill with good fuel.
Cheaper than a motor/fuel system rebuild

If gas fill (you didn't say) is near back of boat its possibly a big problem. If its a side tank fill (my Triton is near passenger seat) then its much less likely you got much , if any, in it.

He didn't say and no one asked. Did it rain where you are and did you leave the boat parked outside uncovered? If not then I wouldn't worry much. If yes to both questions then sitting outside in the rain as opposed to a few hours of fishing can make a big difference from when the boat ran ok and now. Try what curtbass suggested to check.

Thanks guys for the input. My boat is a skeeter it gas fill is in the back I did run the boat all day and never noticed a problem I noticed I left the cap open after I loaded the boat on trailer at the end of the day. It was very windy that day and I do get some wash on the back of the boat when coming off plane

Its happened to a lot of people, human nature mistake. Just do whatever it takes to get a true sample from bottom of tank (where water will settle & where fuel pickup is located) . This will tell you how much you're gonna need to do. Or simplify it. Drain all the fuel, change ALL fuel filters & refill with fresh fuel.
I hope it's no water detected & just a good lesson learned. Embarrassing a little but hey, we've ALL had embarrassing screwups with boats.
