I am looking at buying a new boat shortly and am looking to see what your opinions are on the better motors on the market. I am looking for something between a 90 and a 150 hopefully 4 stroke. Any opinions would be appreciated, or at least what to stay away from.

Go around the back and ask the guy working on them which one he'd buy. Might surprise you.

Honda 4 stroke. Not necessarily the fastest, but very reliable.

Suzuki. I even noticed several elites with the Suzuki`s on back this year and 2 Hondas.

My buddy's '14 4-stroke 'zuke 115 fried an ecm and stranded him in the fog in the middle of Espiritu Santo Bay last weekend.

When I started the search for a new motor, the recommendations were Yamaha, Evinrude and Suzuki. Some recommended Tohatsu and Hondas. Check for reputable repair shops for the brands you are considering.

There's no junk motors being sold today, however there are best choices that will totally depend on what you're going to hang it on, and how you're going to use it. THAT will make the most difference

I'll just keep running Mercs until somebody comes along with a better one. So far that ain't happened.

Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
