Never been before and we are going March 9-10. There are a couple of motels in Zapata looks like, any recommendations?
See you on the lake and have a great day!

been going to falcon once or twice a year for past 10-12 years...always stayed at Oso Blanca motel....rooms are large with kitchen and plenty of room (compared to normal motel room).....A/C works and no complaints about cleanliness plus plenty of room to park your boat and leave it hooked up...

The most fun place we've ever stayed is Best Western and request a room in the very back. Is that ramp still usable back there? Got your own pavilion, can park right at your front door, party area....

Got a reservation at Oso Blanco, I will report back after the trip. Looking forward to a couple of days of fishing hard.
Second question, where are the best eats around there?
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Bass buster I am glad you asked the eating question! I will be down this Thursday. I want to find the best Mexican food in the Zapata area and in the Roma area. We are staying in Falcon Heights

Second question, where are the best eats around there? El Rincon is one of my favorites. The Steakhouse is good too. Nothing that will blow your mind but it's good enough. There's also a Dairy Queen, McDonalds, Little Caesars, and Church's Chicken if you're into chain restaurants. This is all in Zapata btw. I know there is other stuff in Roma and Rio Grande City but I've never gone past the State Park and I always stay in Zapata. Good luck and stay safe.

Staying at Oso, pull out and turn left towards Zapata, about a quarter mile and on the the left is Tina's. Must stop for breakfast before you hit the lake. She opens at 4:00 or 5:00 am. Not sure when she closes. The best!!
