Myself and Rick (Cat Yakker) caught some pretty nice Carp fishing between cold fronts. Fish were caught using corn. All fish were released to fight again! Getting in on some wintertime Carp action. It just don't get any better!

Thanks, Pot licker. For pure fight on a light spinning rod, you just can't beat Carp. I grew up thinking they were trash fish, although fun to catch. When I was stationed in England in 1990, I learned to love the lowly Carp as a true game fish. Those Brits love their Carp more than us Americans love our Bass and Trout. Thanks to Banker for great experiences on the water this past week. Like he says "it just don't get any better".

Thanks Curtis for the reply! I have caught plenty of Carp in the creeks while fishing for the sunnies using worms. The Carp were all not that big. 2 to 5 pound range! Hope you catch one on the fly!

Side Note: What has been the biggest you all have caught this year so far?

Thanks Gitter for the reply! We are simply throwing out can corn. Seems to be working pretty good. The biggest Carp caught this year has been 25 and a half pounds. We have also caught several in the 20 pound range. Plenty in the 15 to 20 range and a very few under 10 pounds.

Thanks Curt0407. When is the spawn? I have been told that carp do not bite during that period. How long is the spawn? Anyone know the answers? Curt0407 if you have any additional information I would love to know it. Again thanks for your reply.

Laker I think the spawn should be over by now it it is one of the best times for numbers and still great size and possible to still capture 30 -40lber's here in texas.

Banker you and Rick are really on to them and it's only a matter of time and the time of your life till a 30+ is captured!
