You can come up on someones grandpa in his 1982 16' 90 hp that just can't go that fast. There is always the pontoon boat running in the boat lane that kicks out a wake that will send you air born when you pass at top speed. The best policy is to watch closely and slow down, pass at a safe speed and get back on it. The fish will still be in the water when you arrive at the next fishing spot. Live to fish another day.
