I've been fishing a little lake here out west for the last year and have been doing pretty well. I am not that great at reading and interpreting what I'm seeing on the graph, so I thought I'd see if anyone can help. I came across this by accident this last Saturday. A friend said it looks like bushes with bait fish around them. It is quite a way off shore. Sorry the pics aren't that great.

I think you stumbled up on someone's crappie hole.

Looks like a fresh brush pile. Did you drag up any willow leafs?

You need to turn your sensitivity up. If it's tree limbs you want to show a hard return a little on them. Looks like a bunch of shad around some Christmas trees or just a bunch of new trees that still have their needles/leaves on them

It looks like Lake Amistad to me. Grass was 20 ft. tall and collapsed during the Winter months.

Thanks for the input everyone. I threw a football jig and a spoon and didnt get any bites. I could feel stuff down there but didnt drag anything up. Ill be going back soon and exploring it some more.
Mr. Harper, its actually Lake JB Thomas northeast of Big Spring, TX. I didnt notice any hydrilla there last year, but I guess its possible that there could be some in the lake.

Mesquite trees, salt cedars, that grew up during all those years it was so low. Willows rot quicker because they're a softer wood. Those in 27' of water have been submerged a couple of years now haven't they? OR as someone said before you found someone else's big crush pile. I haven't fished that lake either in many years. Many many years.

That whole lake is a giant brush pile. It was at 3% capacity a couple of years ago. You could walk across it with your feet on the bottom at one point. The water is so murky, you can see about 12". Now, with all that said, it's a pretty good fishing lake. Came up to around 60% capacity over the last year or two and it's probably acting just like a new lake. I don't know how a fish can see anything to eat. My son caught a 17", 2&3/4lb crappie there when he was 5 years old. His personal best. It even has some walleye in it, I think.

Mr. Harper, its actually Lake JB Thomas northeast of Big Spring, TX. I didnt notice any hydrilla there last year, but I guess its possible that there could be some in the lake. Fished it for all those years I was in Odessa. It never had Hydrilla. It is the bushes that grew while the lake was extremely low for all those years. That is a good looking spot and I suspect Bass to be on it sometime during the day. Keep going back at different times during the day until you figure out their feeding schedule.
