I fished yesterday on Fork. Despite the cold weather, cold water and the wind the fish bit. We failed to connect on some bites but all in all they were cooperating pretty decent. Actually kind of surprised considering the conditions. I'm still cold.....

Trust me I felt the same way as it had been a while since I had fished out there. Just good to be back on Fork again. Went with an open mind and just went fishing. I can't wait to get back out there next week for a few days.

I hope the fishing doesn't suck on Falcon this weekend. But then again, it is Falcon after all.

my best weekend ever on Fork was a 27 degree valentines weekend. poor gf stayed wrapped up in a blanket but it was her idea. not many bites but the smallest was over 7lbs. blk/blue jig and a red trap up north east arm.

Funny you should post this as tomorrow will be exactly 1 year since I caught this big gal on Conroe with a shakey head. I will be out there again as well.

Been very slow for me and my partner last month. We have mostly been fishing south of 1097 but have covered most of that area and have not been very successful. Matt

Matt It's been hit and miss depending on the location. My last trip to Conroe on Sunday, 1/28, The sun was out and I caught three in the back of Peach creek in 5-8 fow. Water temps were 60-61 in most all of creeks and 58 in the main lake. Before that, everything was south of the bridge with a jig or c-rig falling down slopes. Currently, the SJRA site has the water temp back down at 50 deg. so I'll probably start out deeper tomorrow.
