I've yet to find a braid that feeds through the slip cork properly. Has a tendency to lay on the side of the cork and not allow the jig to fall to its set depth. No problem with mono.
Anyone else have the same problem?

Before you rig your slip cork, pull the little stopper out of the tube of your slip cork. Your braid will slide right through with no hang ups.

Yeah I normally only have problems with the braid sliding through the bead. I have gone to 8-pound mono on my slip-bobber rod. You can also increase your jig weight from 1/16 to 1/8...and should slide better...I just like 1/16 on slip bobbers.

Yep, I had to use a heavier jig...and/or lower it down under pressure...honestly, I starting using the balsa slip corks with the large diameter tubes ...works much better...not as good as a slip cork, but much better.

I have the same problem with braid. I switched to mono but the knot moves around quite a bit.

I use 8# Fluro, but still place a small split weight about 4" above my jig head. Keeps the loop knot from hanging up in the slip cork And makes the jig sink better Thill makes a slip cork that bass brass rings at the top & bottom of it that braid slides thru better.

tbox...u can use a bobber stopper there also, above the jig if you don't want the extra weight.. `
