I am bored and frustrated at deadsticking and getting very little bites. I have had three recent trips where I received two small bites per trip. I am marking bait and fish but they have lockjaw in the cold weather.
I do have access to large gizzard shad but they are dead.
Has anyone had luck with cut bait dangled above the shad schools just like a jig?
Or should I target windblown points and place the cut bait on the bottom.
Saw some YOUtube videos of cut bait working in the ocean but not much on Texoma......

Points and fish on the bottom. You probably wont have any luck on suspended fish in deep water.

I love to cut bait over humps and points. Double anchor and fan cast. I was taught by Jim Crawford, guide on Buchanan. He's the best cut bait fisherman I've ever fished with.

Would catch stripers a lot from the bank using cut gizzards on the bottom.
