What do you use to attach a shallow water anchor pole(not one of the automated Talon type units)? Seems like you would need to vary locations depending on the wind.

Either through the ring on my anchor trolley or a lanyard with a shock cord from the top of the stake out pole.

I have anchor trolleys on both sides of my yaks and like Neumie said I put it through a ring I have tied into the trolley. I can position it where I want from front to rear on either side depending on the wind.

For shock reduction one side of the ring is tied to the solid rope of the trolley and the other side I have looped a piece of bungee cord about a foot long. Then tied the other side of the trolley rope to the bungee loop.

I use a 5 lb window weight. its cylindrical, has a built in eye, fits in a rod holder. Its like its made for a kayak anchor.
