I was thinking about a trip over to LOP this weekend and was wondering if the crappie are still out in the open water and deep.....or have they started staging for the spawn? I don't need specifics at all, just wondering if the Armada of boats are sill chasing them in the winter pattern. Thanks.

The fish and every boat you can think of is still in the open water at pines.

They are scattered all over the place and there are plenty of good concentrations as well. You can catch them drifting or off of piles near the river channel. I went yesterday and everyone I saw was catching fish.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

Yes. 27-20ft. Bigger fish are hanging around 23-20ft.
