If they are well off, then maybe they should think about going to Russia and trying this procedure, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT). It is $40K per treatment and they have had pretty fair success with MS and Lukemia patients that have had major cell damage from the diseases and treatments.
I will be up front and tell you my cousin did this she had MS and she died 5 hours after her procedure due to an allergic reaction from one of the medications they put her on, she was only given 2-6 mos before the procedure, so they went for it.
There is a waiting list because they only take like 5 or 8 patients every 6-8 mos, but when some people's opportunity comes up they don't have funds and they call the next one up, there was 7 in front of my cousin that couldn't get the money in time.

The doctors took him off all meds, and had my niece bring the kids in to say goodbye today.

Heartbreaking and sad for one that's suffered so much.... I pray her and the kids will celebrate the time they had and honor him by living a good life.
