Do any of y’all know a good spot for crappie from the bank or kayak around the Stephenville area? I’m in my second semester at Tarleton and with this spawn on the horizon id like to figure out somewhere to get my fix. I can use kayaks from the Rec on campus but I’d rather stay on the bank. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Lake Lingerville, seams like it was north of school. It was back in the days (78-81).

For the spawn, Jones crossing on Lake Proctor is really the only bank fishing you are going to be able to use other than the public docks that are available in Sewell Creek, Promitory park, and I think they have added one by the dam. Proctor is where I cut my teeth while attending Tarleton. Leon is pretty much a boat lake come spawn time. If you can kayak the are some other spots on Proctor that I can put you on.

When I was going to Tarleton Proctor is where I would fish when I had time off. This time of year (till may) it is easy to hit any creek, cove, or pocket and find a few crappie shallow.

Leon. Launch the yak at la mancha. Go to the docks straight across from the docks and work your way to the dam and shoot docks. Green and blue black and chart pink and white
Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.
