Never been on the lake before, what ramps are available closet to the dam area

State park ramp ,nearest Lodging about 4 miles away at Falcon heights Hotel at Falcon Heights TX. (956-848-5229) nearest boat fuel & food is in Roma which is about 15 miles away . Or you can stay in Zapata and drive back & forth to state park about 30 miles. Zapata has several ramps with food & gas and Falcon lake Tackle those guys will give you the low down on what they are biting on. Tight lines.

Head North. That’s where the DD’s are.
All the rookies fish South. All rookies & vets alike ...... Plenty of DD's down South...... .....jmo49.... pm me if you want some spots down south to fish. American side & the Mexico side should be just about time for the BIG girls to be coming in to the rocks at the dam. I bet that area will be crowded this weekend at Bass Champs. wish I was going to be there.

Just got back from fishing this past weekend. All of our fish but 2 came from up North, but the biggest one came down South. So go figure. Champs tourney should be a slugfest.

you know everyone has their spots on Falcon......
first time I have ever been referred to as a "clown" because I like to fish a certain area of a lake.
but you know ..... I am sure those guys a RIGHT and the only place one should fish Falcon is up North.
Maybe the next time I go to Falcon I'll have the South all to myself ...... hmmmm ...... don't think so.

The fishing has been pretty dead up North for awhile, but the fishing up there is definitely picking up. I probably saw an even number of boats on the North end and South end. You're definitely not a clown for fishing the South end.

I would have to assume that the post was sarcasm, intended to keep folks up North and out of his way. The best consistent fishing (if there is such a thing) has been down south for a couple of years at least.
