there are different heights and colors available, usually installed when the boat is purchased. Some people don't want one at all.

The interesting thing about the hardcore bullet drivers. The will go to all cost to keep the weight on their boats down. Very little fishing tackle. Some even ditch large trolling motors and use the old school hand control Evinrude trolling motors because they are light.

While some of these guys being about 50 pounds overweight. Kinda funny!!!

Thanks, Billy

My uncle owned one in the early 2000's, worst riding boat I have ever been in and a major pain to run the trolling motor. I'll pass.

It was fast though

I used to have a 21XD. Mine wasn't a speed demon like a lot of them but I didn't care to run 80 mph on the lake. Had it loaded down with tackle and loved the layout I have with my rod and reels in the center storage area instead of the side rod boxes. That is where I kept my tackle etc. I was on Rayburn and Fork in a lot of rough water and it was great. Great fishing boat, only negative was in high winds it would blow around quite a bit especially if I was trying to flip docks etc. I owned a couple of Bass Cats and a Ranger 520 through the years and can truthfully say I would own another of any of these boats without hesitation including the Bullet which by the way had a great almost Tequilla Sunrise paint scheme that was definitely the best looking boat of all that I owned.

Agree 100%.

Been in and out of Bullets since the late 80's. I've owned 3, all 21X boats. It amazes me all the people that hate on Bullet due to the ride. Granted the 20's are a handfull, but I'd put a 21x's ride up against anything on the market. Especially when it comes to running downwind in big swells. The only boat I've ever been in that would hold the nose up as good, or better, was the 221 Champions. You really have to work to stuff the nose.

The light weight, high nose at rest, and somewhat flat sides did lend to it blowing around. But not much dock fishing on Sam Rayburn so that was never an issue.

I guided 12 years in my last 21XDC. For 10 yrs, I never had to change a livewell pump, switch, or fix any boat specific issues. Hydro Steering, yes, twice. Also, powerhead rebuild, 3 lower units, troller, graphs, light poles, Power Poles, trailer lights, and bearings. 2 yrs before I sold it, the auto bilge float stuck, so I pulled the gas tank and replaced it. Pretty good testament to the overall build quality.

I'd run the newer 21XRS in a heartbeat. Same hull as the XD with an updated top cap. More tourney oriented layout, taller console, and other upgrades.

Morgan, Neil and Colson all run Bullets on the FLW tour now. Not too shabby. I'm sure Morgan has had many offers to switch boats and has left a bunch of money on the table to stay with Bullet. Something to think about.

Im kinda of glad there are so many people with a negative image of a Bullet. I would hate to have the same boat as everyone else. If you were to give an XRS to every bass fisherman to test for 1 month, within a year there would be nothing but XRSs on the lakes.

Your uncle either had a 20 footer or couldn't drive his 21. Mine does fine in rough water.

The wind absolutely blows it around more though.

Yeah I'm not sure what size it was but I bet you are right. I just know it wasn't a fun ride in that thing when it was rough. We didn't complain at the time though because that was all we had and we caught plenty of fish out of it. My dad bought a skeeter in about 2006 that was a really good boat for a long time. We are in a 2018 FX21 LE now and it makes that bullet seem worse than what it probably was.

And yes I don't think he was the best driver I have ever been with. His philosophy was get on top of the waves and run as hard as you can. He kept me puckered up in rough water. The boat was dang sure fast though.

That's a bold statement.
