I'll watch it because it's another excuse to drink more than I should.

But I gotta ask...I saw on the news this morning they were saying the day after the SB is the largest call in sick day of the year. So who was smart like me and was proactive and just took the day off? Three day weekend baby!!banana

I am passing on it, do not like how the NFL handled the stand for the flag stuff so I won't be contributing to the ratings.

Don't watch commercials, don't like either of the teams, something wrong about football indoors, & more importantly, have a prior commitment. Might DVR it to watch later if I get the itch for some football. Otherwise, meh.

You thought right. Except for the self-gratification crowd. The boycotters, hence the patriots, are still a minority unforturnately. But that's ok to a lot of us, there is a channel selector on the TV, no problem. Live long and prosper, but as for me and mine, no football. It is a sacrifice since we like football.

He said he thought most people were boycotting, then you said he's right. Then you said most that we're boycotting are the minority. Good grace I'm confused.

Just watched a story about a young lady with spinal muscular atrophy and was reminded that the NFL does many, many, many things for people that don't get the attention that some things do. I'll be watching.

I haven’t missed a Super Bowl since I can remember. What I’m saying is I’ve watched every Super Bowl I can remember since I was about 5 years old. That was 1969 and the Jets beat the Baltimore Colts 16-7 and Joe Willie Namath was the MVP. So that makes me watching 48 of the 52 Super Bowls.

Watching the kneeling, entitled, spit on the flag NFL players will never happen again in my household. Doing so disrespects all the men that have shed their blood for this great country. NFL can burn in Hell, the players can to, any true Texan wouldn't tune in.

I do not like watching football in the least bit but dang bro.
Some of those players have shed blood for our great country. Should they burn in hell too?

Does it disrespect the veterans and current service members who say they aren’t disrespected by it? Because I’m watching some on TV right now being interviewed by NBC literally decked out in Patriots and Eagles gear, holding signs and talking about who they’re cheering for tonight.

Do what you think is right, but there are plenty of veterans and current people in the military that don’t share your point of view, some of them in Texas even.

Dude the more I think about it, the more your arrogant statement pisses me off. I am a TRUE Texan who is sitting on a little airbase in Southwest Asia as we speak. I don't normally watch football but I will be drinking my 3 beers tonight while I watch the game with a couple hundred other servicemen. Cheers

Wow...look if you don’t want to watch it then don’t watch it but criticizing others for watching it is way lame...

You are right. I apologize.

No worries Bob cheers but you will have to try harder next time because your original thread has definitely been bumped to 2nd place in case you are still following this one grin

Funny how me stating that I will be boycotting the NFL disrespecting the flag and our soldiers pisses you off, yet the disrespecting of the flag and of you a great soldier of the USA by the NFL garners your support. Ironic.

Dayum, this has turned ugly. 10% of the NFL acts stupid, 10% of kids in school act stupid, 10% of cops act stupid. Probably more than 10% of society acts stupid. But the 10% that acts stupid doesn’t require me to boycott my life. Wow 😲 Thrn again if I had a 14 ft Alumacraft I’d probably be pissed at the world.

NFL doesn't "garner my support." Sitting around with my coworkers, getting a little taste of home is what it's all about to me brother. If that's ironic to you, you just don't get it and never will. Just wait until the halftime show start burning the flag. I guess you will be against that right? There is a line that was crossed, you wanna look past that? Go ahead, that's your thing. Said all I am going to say on this one.

Y'all can come back to watching. There haven't been any kneel downs in the playoffs. It's all back to normal now.

NBC is at Oman Air Force Base right now. There are 5,000 service members there, most of whom are watching the game tonight, according to what they just said live on TV. There are probably 100 on screen every time NBC shows them, and somebody interviews one service member that is a fan from each team.

They keep showing it during the pregame show. A lot of people seem to be able to handle multiple seemingly conflicting opinions just fine.

NFL will fine players for wearing shoelaces that aren't approved but refuse to demand that players show respect for the flag for three minutes before the game... Cowboys requested to display a logo on their helmets to honor the five officers killed downtown and were denied... Players protest INJUSTICE but give me one example of an officer they cite who didn't face the justice system ie grand jury, judge, jury, trial...?

I appreciate the players who do good deeds and respect the flag, country and fans. They have their contracted salaries, the league takes the hit for lower ratings. End of rant.

I'd be willing to bet that this Super Bowl will have the highest ratings of anything on television this year and will rank in the top 5 of any Super Bowl in the history of the event. It was a great game and the league is alive and well.

I turned on the game. The first thing The Boss said was, "Who scheduled a football game during a Justin Timberlake concert?".
