I have seen this topic discussed here before but was unable to find the posts using the 'search' function. Where can I find the best deal for a specific brand name. I don't have a preference for a specific brand. I appreciate any help/comments.

After buying perscription sunglasses for year, II normally go with the brand that they are selling, MUCH cheaper than getting a BRAND NAME pair. That being said, I DID purchase some Cosstas, once and then my eyes changed. This was back when they were like $450 or so, not $600 to $800 now. I replace them every year, as my insurance company allows that. I normally have my eyes change a little bit each year, if it is not bad, I hang onto the older pair. Getting a time for a new pair in April. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I prefer Costa 580g if you can get them. My insurance does not allow them though, the best I could find in my plan was WileyX. I really like them so far though. I would put them second to Costa's out of the different brands I have tried.

I just got a pair of Oakley at Lens Crafters. $450 with my insurance. You may be able to use your old frames and save around $100. Just take in the frames and they can tell you if they can have the lenses made.

put a strap on the back. I had my pair around a stocking cap as it was like 34 in the morning. Forgot about the glasses and pulled the cap off and lost the glasses in the lake. Fortunately for me my brother is an optometrist and I got the lenses replaced for free and frames for cost. Still $125 mistake.

My insurance allows $230 for frames but they make them send the frames to them and they make the lenses. I found a pair of Maui Jims polarized readers that have great lenses. They were able to write it up someway as to let me use my frame allowance for them so I got some decent sunglasses. I'm just waiting to be able to get on the water and test them out. I wanted Costas but no way was I paying the price that they charge for prescription lenses. I was told that Costa is coming out with reader sunglasses so that might help some people.

I just got 2 new pairs from Solar Bat , one amber, one green. The guy that runs the company is a tournament bass fisherman and an optometrist. Order your glasses and send in the prescription, simple. I've been using these for about 5 years now, its a really good deal IMO.

I have had the Costa 580G for the past 3 years and love them. They are not cheap but they are worth it.
I deal with Dr. Wicks at Paris Optical for all my RX needs.

Agree with Stratos Caster. All you have to do is take your prescription to an optical shop and they can get polarized glasses for you in any frame you like. My normal frames and sunglass frames are the same and for me that is Swiss; like the Swiss army knife brand. You don't need to get traditional and expensive sunglasses like Costas.

I have not wanted to spend the money for some good bifocal sunglasses until I found the Amphibia glasses at the Fun N Sun show that float. I am going to get me some of those.

I have had a pair of Maui Jim's that were great at seeing in the water but frail. Had to send in several times for repair. It was covered under warranty. I heard a podcast about Vicious Vision and their prescription glasses. Planning to try them for my next pair.
