Alright so me and a buddy are planning a trip the last weekend of march to Sommerville. We have a 15ft semi V and are going to more than likely stay at the marina. So what are some good options on where to fish/start? Will the whites still be in the creek? Is the pay dock at the marina any good? Are there a lot of docks on this lake besides the marina? Any and all info welcome. Thanks guys.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.

Do you need a fishing licence to fish down on Newman's Bottom? Is it considered part of a state park? Aren't you allowed to fish on a state park without a fishing licence?

If you pay to get into the state park and you are fishing from the bank or shore of the park you do not need a fishing license. At lake Somerville if you are in a boat fishing no matter where, you need a license.

Any idea if the gate is open down at Newman's Bottom?

Marina is hit or miss for crappie as all fishing is.
Overlook is only spot with docks right now.
