Can someone educate me on the advantage with these? Saw someone in the classifieds has them for sale for cheap. Might get some of them. Just wondering what the big deal is about them.

When your cleaning out your boat and you find a tungsten weight, you will be more excited about finding it than you are when you find a $20 bill in the laundry.

Pros: Smaller profile and better feel of what you're dragging your weight over. For example, if you are dragging a tx rig and you bump a rock or log, you can feel it a bit better on your end.

Cons: expensive, you will consider swimming after them when you get hung up, hard to switch back to using lead and you will forever be a slave to the tungsten and its outrageous price tag.

I just don’t have any confidence in lead anymore after using tungsten!

cheers

Quit fishing for 20 years to start a business and family. When I got back into 6 plus years ago, it was overwhelming with all the new equipment and tackle. I love to fish T-Rig and can say without a doubt that tungsten and fluorocarbon are a game changer for me. Sensitivity is the biggest benefit and breaking off is the biggest downside.

Its the sensitivity and feel that you get. Most guys have switched on their texas rig weights, but still aren't throwing tungsten jigs. I personally believe you will feel more of a difference with the jig than you do the weights. Check our website out, we sell hand tied tungsten jigs starting at just $4. Can't go wrong with them.

Thanks for the info guys, I might order a few.. Just looking for bullet style to use for texas rig..

I've caught more fish on a watermelon texas rig than I have on any other plastic rig combined

What's the difference between tungsten and the steel weights, like Eagle Claw and others sell?

Would you prefer the Eagle Claw steel over lead?

The tungsten is heavier for a given physical size than lead, steel, brass, etc. The hardness of tungsten isn't it's only merit. It's smaller so it snags less and sinks faster.
