I would never, ever set foot on Mexican soil. I am not sure what all the Mexican wardens require if you get checked on the water on the Mexican side. I have fished over there a lot, and never saw a warden so not a big deal. Also, never have a gun in the boat across the border.

Someone said it prior but definitely stop by the tackle store and talk to them guys. They will give you some good advice. Just make sure you have some heavy tackle. I was there two weeks ago and we were catching them on wood and green bushes in 3-6ft of water with lizards and worms(watermelon red). They said they were catching them on spinnerbaits also but we had no luck with them. I think the Bass Champs winner was using brush hogs. Water has really warmed since I was there so this info may be absolutely worthless. They may be moved up and on beds for the ones that have not spawned yet. If you are not going to the Mexican side should not need to worry about a license but have one if you do go over there for sure and if you are even thinking of going to the Mexican side do not have a weapon.
