First attempt at this style of wing and it has problems (especially the tail), but I thought it was still a cool looking fly. smile

"The Stevenson" salmon fly - round 2.

Seems to have an overall "cleaner' look than the first one, but some elements were better the first time. Still need to work on the tail and there is too much of the blue throat. The red herl was used in desperation after I left my black feather at home. (This red is nice to work with.)

Thanks to Dutch and Kyle I learned how to fix some of these issues yesterday at the Red River Rendezvous. smile

You know, posting photos of your flies can be very humbling....

After posting, I noticed that I left a gap between the light blue tag and the red herl butt. Ouch - that's embarassing!!!!

Still very fishable and displayable. I would be proud to tie that well.

I see a small gap at the end where the tail is tied but would not have noticed it, other than that you have tied a challenge that I doubt I for one could not come close to your result. Take a feather and place it in your cap clap
