I was talking to the Bass Pro salesman again... He told me that the Lowrance elite 5 TI will go on sale in a couple of weeks. I was looking into that unit. It is wifi capable, so i can use a big tablet to project what is on the screen on to the tablet that would make the image bigger. Actually making it bigger will i be able toget better images ? Is anyone else doing this ? The 5" screen is small and the unit has DI and SI but on five inches you wont be able to tell anything apart. I use a humminbird 9 KVD si (non Mega, it was not available when i bought it) as my primary but the transducers are on the very back of my pontoon. thinking about using the other unit to i can see what is actually under the boat and so i can see where my lures are actually at.

You will not be able to make out the images on the tablet out on the water unless you have a Bimini top or crawl under the console. They just aren't bright enough....

The Humminbird Mega DI series are pretty incredible.

The Hook2 series are a easy to use finder at an affordable price.

cant afford a mega imaging right now. the ease of set up, i dont care about i can tweak it till i like it. i dont like the Hook2 with out the maps, the way point thing is silly with out at least a body of water. so it is 499 for the hook2 7x with split shot transducer with maps. or the same for the Elite 5 ti with small bells and whistles. i really dont need the maps i have a lake master card in my humminbird, but just silly looking. i can still find hook 7 with maps pretty reasonable but is the hook2 better ?

I have not used either graph that you are asking about, but 800 will give a narrower cone. Should result in cleaner images, but not much distance on side imaging.

IMO, the Elite ti units are better.

so in your opinion, the elite 5 ti is only 455 hz the hook is 800 hz. that is clarity right. this is going to go on my trolling motor so not my primary unit. which would you do between these two models.
