Clark has some big fish! Got out yesterday to Clark. Only got 3 bites all day. First 2 were at about 8:00 am. Got the first in the boat. It weighed 1lb. 14ozs. The 2nd I got to the boat and started to swing her in and the tip of my hook broke off. I was quite PO'ed at that. I had just gotten these new pill jig heads. I powder coated them and tied them up with some different materials. I've broken the tip on 4 of them now. I fished the rest of the day and was about to call it a day when I decided to go back to the pile I got the 2 bites at earlier. Caught the 3rd at about 2:30 pm. It was my personal best. She went 2 lb 7 ozs. It is only my 2nd ever 2lb'er. I released them both at the ramp. I also saw the gulls working the surface all day, all over the lake. Apparently the shad are starting to suffer from the 45 degree water temp. I saw them trying to swim, quite erratically, right below the surface. I saw this every place I fished. Never more than one at a time. I did catch one in my net to see how it measured up to my bait in size. It was almost the same.

Couple of nice ones there Rod.

Must be a bad batch of hooks out there. I have heard from a few people that are having the same issue.

Apparently, Matzuo has gone bankrupt. This ^^^^ could be part of the reason why.

I average around 1 bad hook, per 100, on the ones I have purchased. Luckily, I have not had any issues with them breaking.

BlueNitro, Jim and I are gonna be in the creek at Lewisville Sat. Any tips for us? I'm tying some more, plain no powder coat. If one of them breaks I'll know it is bad hooks.
