The Ray Hubbard Bass Club will be holding our first monthly meeting of 2018 this Thursday night, January 11th starting at 7:00PM. We meet at Bass Pro Shops in Garland on the restaurant patio downstairs. They only have a couple of the heaters working so dress warm and we will get through business ASAP. We may try and move inside if needed, but we are very crowded in there and many cannot hear if we spill out of the meeting room. We are taking memberships for the new year. David will be there taking money as usual, but we will have new faces Brad Reagan and Brian Roether helping with all the paper work. Membership costs $30.00 for the calendar year and includes your entire immediate family. If you are a returning member whose information has not changed, just pay your membership and sign the Sign In Sheet and your work is done. If you are a NEW member, or if you have moved, gotten a new phone number etc. we will need you to fill out an information sheet for the Club roster. If you are new and unsure about where to go or what to do, ask someone who looks like they do and they will get you pointed in the right direction. (I hope...) grin I will make announcements to let you know who to see to get signed up.

Topics for discussion this month include the introduction of the Club Officers for 2018. We will go over the schedule for this season. We will go over the rules changes that were made in November for the coming season. We will go over our info for our first tournament that will not take place until February 10th. Remember, THERE IS NO JANUARY TOURNAMENT! We will go over what it takes to qualify for both Angler of the Year and the Club Championship tournament which will take place November 10/11 at a lake or lakes still to be determined. We will talk about the community events that will take place in the coming year.

Lots to do on Thursday night! Break out that new cold weather gear you got for Christmas! Come out and enjoy your evening with us! Bring your appetite. Wait staff will be there for your food and drink orders. Tip them well! Let me know if you need more info on anything!

Change of plans! Looks like the cold front is going to be particularly nasty, so we are moving our meeting inside. We are going to move in to the back meeting room. However as you know, that room is a bit too small to accommodate everyone, so we will put as many in as we can and have everyone else outside in the lounging area by the fireplace. I will set up a speaker so you all can hear. If you want something to drink, you can go to the bar and order it. If you are planning to eat, because it will be crowded, please come a bit early and sit at a table in the restaurant, or plan on staying a little later and eating after the meeting. Going to be busy and crowded so use the patience you have when fishing for a big girl on a bed! cheers

Even with the lousy weather we had a really good crowd come out. Next meeting will be Feb. 8th and if you want to fish Palestine, you will need to have joined by that meeting. Speaking of Palestine, we are looking at different ramps because LTBC is using Palestine Resort, and FOM is at the Villages. If you are going out to practice, check out Flat Creek Marina and let me know what you think!

Tommy, I think Chris and I will be out there as well. Maybe we'll see you there. Wind is going to blow. Be careful

Because of a schedule conflict at Bass Pro, our next meeting is being moved to Wednesday February 7th and we will be running the Palestine Tournament from Flat Creek Marina.

I was told 10-15 originally. Our choices are very limited at this point

That wouldn't be bad at all.

Tom, you were told correct. Lisa and i have fished with that Region and it is generally around 11 teams. Very low key group so there should be no issue with us (RHBC). Most couples will load early.

Bassattak - I am a little surprised that it would be such a low turnout. After reading about BassCat upgrading and CAST having the boat being given away at the championship makes me wish I had a boat at this time so me and the wife could fish just to qualify for the championship for a chance of winning the drawing for that boat. Also CAST has always had the reputation for putting on good, fun tournaments.

What time is your weigh in? We can try and stagger ours so we are not in your way. Let me know and thank you!

It is generally last cast at 2:30, weigh in at 3:00. We will be fishing in the RHBC with you. I do not see any reason for either leagues to make any special arrangements.

TBassYates, You may be right, they may draw more teams. I am just going off the times we fished with that region and it typically averages 10-15 teams. CAST is a great organization and some of the Regions bring more teams. We have been fishing with CAST the past 4 years however with the Championship being on Lake Amistad it is hard for us to make that trip so we have joined the Texas Bass couples and will qualify for their Championship. If any couples want a to fish a great organization and have the chance to win a NICE boat, CAST would be well worth joining!
