Got out on the lake yesterday around 1PM and only could fish until 4PM. I decided to use side-scan to find fish up shallower with the sun and warmer temps rather than chase them deep. Down deep it looks like a quagmire right now of shad everywhere (maybe dead) and lots of fish... Overwhelming. I did a lot of idling before I found some fish off a point holding in 15 up to 10 ft of water. Started off with a double header and then the action was slow but steady. Ended up with only 7 fish, and the biggest was a 12. Fish were in close proximity to deeper water and they were enormously fat. Looked like they were going to pop.
Hope to get out there today and see if I can get on them.
