Whats up guys, I am looking for some more fishing glasses... I have my eyes on the Costa Blackfins, but does anyone else have any recommendations to check out before I commit to these?

any polarized sunglasses will work, how much money do you have to blow? In my mind just have a pair on you, it doesn't matter to me the brand name, your just at a disadvantage without them.

I agree that something is better then nothing....but to say there is no difference is simply lack of knowledge on your part. And, no....I don't own any Costas. But, if they were available under my eye/vision insurance plan, I'd sure have a pair. FYI, WileyX are pretty good, but even those are inferior to the lenses in Costas.

I'm not sure if Oakley is part of your insurance but they do make Rx glasses. They obviously make polarized lenses but they have started to make fishing glasses as well. That being said, I love my Costas that I got from the Skeeter Owners Tourney.

I have gone away from black fin due to the two piece frame. I sweat so much that they separate after a period of time. I wish costa had a 1 piece frame that is Rx-able and wraps because their lenses are the best. I have gone to Maui Jim because of the frames, both around $700 for Rx and amenities that go with good glasses

It's been 8-10 years since I've owned Wileys, but the ones I had were junk. I had 3 pair and all 3 frames fell apart. Costas are as good as I've ever owned. I recommend trying several frames before purchasing. The fit and size varies to accommodate just about every mug. Research and select the best lens for the conditions you plan to use them for most. Amber is best for cloudy conditions or driving in rain. The blue mirror are great for sunny days. 580g are heavy, but very durable and they filter extremely well.

Anything Costa is great... I've had a pair of Permits for going on 8 years, They're second to none IMO. Best advise I can give is to go with 580 glass lenses in green mirror for bass fishing.

Ill vote for Costas also I have the Cortez model. I like a moron left them in the boat going down the highway and they flew out at 70mph. I turned around picked them up off the road and there was hardly any damage done at all just a small scrape on the frame. Like others mentioned go with the glass lenses the first time. I made the mistake of going with the 580P and those scratch so easy took all of 2 weeks before I had a scratch on them.

Check Backcountry dot com or Sierra Trading Post. They usually have closeouts of most major brands. I have Natives right now because they were available heavily discounted the last time I was shopping. I also like the fact that a lot to the Natives come with two sets of lenses, regular and low light.

I just bought Costa Zane's they are a little bigger then the Brines. I've heard 580G green is the best for freshwater fishing.

I have a couple pair of the Costa's but I am a little partial to Revo myself. Pricepoint is a little cheaper than Costa but my eyes love them!!

I think the best optics are Maui Jim's but I have lost or broke most of mine throughout the years. Have two pair of 580Gs now -- they work fine. I think there is a huge difference in quality optics vs generic polarized. For pistol shooting I use polycarbonate but I have been using glass for fishing for awhile (still has some risk).
I may buy a pair of green mirrored 580Ps to bonefish in Andros this June but I seldom have a need for blue or green lenses. Gray, Copper, Bronze, Rose, and Yellow usually gets it done for the places I go.

I wear Revo sunglasses. I believe they are the Small Guide frame. IMO, theyre better than Coasta and not everybody and their brother has them. They give you a generous discount when you trade your old pair in for new glasses.

If you fish Bass Champs be sure to check out Amphibia Eyegear. They are the official sunglass sponsor this year and have contingency money. The also sponsor Texas Team Trail as well. Have never had an issue with mine and they float so havent lost any in years either.

Stay away from the Costa Frames with the rubber or whatever it is on them. If you wear sunscreen it's not a matter of if the rubber will separate from the frames but when.
