I bought the update card and followed the instructions and from my understanding once you register the update card by using your old card, you will use the new "update card" as the card to stay in the unit.

Well I put the new card into the unit and all it says is downloading charts. I let it stay in there for about 15 minutes and it just said the same thing the whole time and never showed and charts. What am I doing wrong?

If there was a count-down timer, the maps were updating. It could take over an hour to update the maps.

A count down timer on the Humminbird? I did not see any timer.

Countdown timer with Chart Installer when you activate/update the Navionics Update card.

Did you do the whole process BEFORE you put the card in the Humminbird?

Yes I did the whole process thru the Humminbird Chart Installer before I loaded the card into my HBird.

I just went back and deleted the factory data and downloaded my region. The person I spoke with at Humminbird said it might be too big of a file since it was all of U.S. and Canada.

I guess we will see if it works. Might be a day or 2 before I can go see if it worked.

So you bought a Navionics Update card? Or is this a Humminbird product that you bought? At first thought you were talking about Navionics, but in the last comment you mentioned Humminbird chart installer.

I'm sorry it is the Navionics update. I meant to say the Navionics Chart Installer, not Humminbird.

I got ya, just double checking. What Humminbird unit are you running? I would recommend on the updates card(which when activated is a Nav+ card) do not draw a large box around all of the region. You are taking up a lot of space with unnecessary data that is not lakes or rivers. I would recommend downloading each lake or if they are close togther (i.e..Toledo Bend and Rayburn) then draw a box just around those and download. You can download as many individual lakes as you like as long as the card isn't full, which takes a lot.

I am running a Humminbird Helix 12 Mega.

How do you down load individual lakes? When I activated the card all I could figure out was how to draw the big box for the area. All I need is lakes, don't want to download anything besides lakes and rivers.

You put the resized box around an individual body of water after zooming in with the least amount of land included and then download.

And once you finish a lake, you will click Download more and continue the same process until either all your lakes are done or your card is full.
