I've fished that area many times. It's a Mullet... The river is full of them down their. Super good Gar and big Catfish bait. Amazing. "The Brazos River is full of mullet" just south of Waco? I'd have lost that bet. Interesting.

That's definitely a new one for me. Catch them just like it by the truck load at the coast in cast nets but I haven't ever heard of one in freshwater. Pretty cool

No Im up by waco. Its at a place called marlin falls on the Brazos river. Intetesting, Years ago there was a picture of one in the Whitney Views newspaper that somebody caught behind the Whitney dam,

It is a mullet. It is a saltwater fish,but it is not uncommon to find them in freshwater close to the gulf. Chop him up and use him for Gar/ Catfish bait.

It's a Striped Mullet. It can be used as bait or eaten. While most people wouldn't even think to eat them, I have and it is one of the best tasting fish that I have ever had.
