Boat trailer keeps knocking out the bearings of the rear axle, this will be the 3rd set. The trailer is riding level - the boat is not overloaded on weight- there is plenty of grease in the hubs - trailer has never been in a accident, before I replace the bearings again could it be that the hub are bad & need replacing? Please I need some help - Thanks in advance.

When you replaced bearings, did you also replace bearing races inside hub?

Same question as above... races?

What do you mean "knocking out the bearings"? Are the physically being thrown from the hub?

Are they the correct parts?

What does the spindle look like? You putting the cotter pin back in?

Yes new races -seals & bearings // Yes bearings are coming apart roller are all over the trailer finder after about 25 miles of driving - as far as the correct parts I would think so had a shop replace it the last time because I thought I did something wrong the 1st time. Spindles still look good because I have been keeping a close eye on them when i drive and have been checking them regularly - cotter key & nut are still in place.

That would be my next question as well. Also jack other wheels, grasp both sides of tire and see if their is any end play movement.

I had that same problem years ago, best solution is to replace a complete new axle. Hitting the curb several times can cause the axle slight bent.

Get a new axle (buddy bearing to buddy bearing) and go fishing.

I had a similar problem, it turned out I had a spindle out of round. New axle, problem solved
