Not surprised there was a 30 pound bag caught. That lake has 'em. Just gotta know what to do at the right time. But that can be said for any lake...

I on the other hand stunk it up yesterday. It was just not my day.

LBJ stretches from Horeshoe Bay, sunrise beach, to kingsland and then to inks dam. Why would everybody be stacked up on this lake? This lake has everything you could ever want to fish. Growing up on that lake the biggest issue was boat ramps.

I know nothing about the lake but this time of year you can eliminate a lot of water. Put that many guys trying to win 10K on a lake and the obvious good places are going to be covered up.

"Evidently the first place team had 3 fish over 8 pounds before 10am, and went early to get them weighed and released, then continued fishing."

That lines up with what I know about how and where they caught their first fish. Deep, deep, deep.

The majority of the best fishing is in the first quarter or half of the lake. I see it year after year. I don't know where the winners caught their fish but I'm willing to bet it wasn't past Pecan Creek. Past that point you really don't see many boats stacked up. Just my 2 cents though.

I respect that. Growing up in Llano I always fished around the Kinglsand area and caught some good bags, so that's just where I always fished. My personal best bass was caught just close to the Legends golf course.

I landed a 11lber in 2012 during the champs championship she was caught up the river, so I can at least attest that there are big fish on the entire lake

LBJ has some great bass in it. Probably because in the summer its tough to fish because of all of the boat traffic and the fish get a chance to grow

I don’t think it was a matter of guys suddenly figuring the lake out. The grass in the lower 1/3 of the lake has dramatically improved the fishing. The river still fishes like it did, or slightly better.

Fish were caught on docks. WAY past Pecan creek in less than 10ft of water. Timing was key on that deal.

I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.
