Thinking about trying Bastrop or Decker. Never laid eyes on either as I'm new to the Austin area. Could do LBJ also as I'm in the Lago Vista area. Thoughts?

Just an FYI, there is a TTZ tournament on LBJ this weekend. Probably 150-200 boats.

Been fishing the 'trop all fall/early winter. You'll catch, just look for grass. There is plenty.

Moving to GT this weekend to survey for late winter/spring.

Yes, there is plenty of grass and you won't have a hard time finding it. Seeing it in the gloom and rain will be tough. Bring your worm rod.

I tried Bastrop for the first time today as well. Morning started slow but we caught a couple early on and then finally found quite a few 2-4# fish around 2:30. Majority of our luck was on crankbaits ripped out of the top of the grass, couldnt get much on the worm rod.

Lake Bastrop
Water Temp was 58
Cloudy
I ended up with 4 from 12" - 16" on Saturday. All on a wacky worm. It was a nice day on the water.
