Here is a good tarpon video of that exact area.

I thought Key West was a S-hole in the 80's. Can't imagine what it's like now, but thinking probably not so good.

I have seen more gay people in Texas than Florida ,

I love Key West .

Any place you can catch fish like this , 10 minutes from the dock , I approve.

Try it in an inner tube.

Have heard lots of stories from guys fishing from top of fishing bridge there that hung things that tore them a new one. roflmao Unless you were geared up for them you would never even get close to getting a big one to the surface.

Had to use feet to kick myself away from barnacle encrusted pilings while being pushed so fast I couldn't control my direction. Much easier from a kayak but current can get so strong I couldn't make it through one time. During slack tide or beginning or end of a tide it was doable.

I forget which wreck it was but there was one somewhere South of Summerland we'd go that you could fish at. At the right buoy, when the wind and current were right, you'd be positioned right over the back of the ship and it was kind of like a ledge and they'd be stacked up under it. We'd go out with those little short stumpy rods rigged up with the biggest gear we could find and try to pull one out from under neath. Never managed to get one to the surface, but spent many hours trying. Did manage to pull this out though. The other grouper.... I spent 4 or 5 months down there in 05 working for the BSA. Had quite a time.
