I've used all brands of lead-acid deep cycle batteries and at one time (before a couple of corporations owned basically all of the battery manufacturing in the US), there were some differences.

I used to get great service out of Interstate, Die Hard, etc..

Nowadays, they last 1.5 to 2 years and it's back to the store for a new one. Nearly ALL battery warranties are ONE YEAR replacement and then pro rated. And before anybody says anything, they go right back on a smart charger as soon as I get back from fishing.

Yesterday my group 27 trolling motor unit bit the dust. I think it was nearly 2 years old.

So today, I bought the Ever Start MAXX, which has a 3 year replacement warranty and 2 more years pro rated.

Does anybody get three years out of this brand?

thanks ----

I get 5-7 years out of them. They would be even cheaper if guys wouldn't use them for a year, do something to short them out and take them back. That just peeezis me off.

I have once thats from 2012 and I replaced it due to fear that itd die at an inconvenient time. Bought a new one and charged it up, tested the old battery vs the new and the old still read stronger. hammer

Good batteries, but you can always get a dud in any brand. I try to replace them every 3 years for my own piece of mind.

I'm looking to add a battery to my boat.
Going from 24v to 36v

So is a "group 27" the battery I want to look for.
Right now I have a pair of interstates on the TM and a die-hard for the starting motor.

I went to Ever Start MAXX batteries exclusively a few years back. No matter where you are, there is a Wal-Mart within 30 minutes of you. And they are open. Unlike Academy or some tire/battery shop. I just replaced one that was 5 years old.

My cranking battery and one of my trolling motor batteries bit the dust within a week of each other. I bought all new batteries 5 years ago and they are going strong. Can't go wrong with them. Less money and lasts longer.

Good priced lead battery. Usually get 18 months out of them but they get a tremendous amount of use in spring and all summer at coast

I got a good deal on Deka's that I'm running right now... But had the Ever Start Maxx 27s for 10+ years before that and got around 3 years out of them on average. I wouldn't hesitate to run them again.

All I've run for the last twenty years. I can only think of one that didn't make it to three years.

Funny this was posted today...
I just went to swap one out that I've had since 2014 last night...great pro rate and another 4 years of good power

I have had Optima,Trojans and Everstarts and for the ease of swapping them at a Wally World anywhere just makes it easy for me to keep using them

Mine seem to average about 3 years of steady weekly use; some have lasted up to 5 years.
