What are the top baits for Sugar? Any got to have color? Starting to put a box together gor my first trip down there. Thanks

Green pumpkin Rage Craws flipped into the middle of the brush. Bite might be very subtle. Have a hair trigger on your hook set.

The MX fish bite subtle? Do they like big spinnerbaits at Sugar like they do at other MX lakes I watch on youtube?

I hope it warms up a bit down there

Sugar is completely different than "other MX lakes" that are on the Pacific side. I mean, fish are fish, but this isn't a mountain lake built for irrigation.

Sure. February might be a little early but if you get a warm afternoon definitely give it a try. Especially in the late afternoon. You don't have to get too fancy. A 1/2 oz. double willow with a chartreuse/white skirt worked for me. Also, take lots of 8" watermelon/red lizards. If it's sunny there will be a big girl sunning herself about 2' below a huisache bush waiting on a lizard.
