With all of the stockings that have taken place on the Guadalupe River by TPW and other trout organizations the river is loaded with Rainbow Trout! Me and a friend of mine fished a spot we had never fished before and limited out in a little over an hour! We saw top water action all over the river in a number of places. This was Monday this week before this latest front!

Side Note: Remember the "Trophy Zones" !

We also picked up a few sunnies who were in a deep pocket just up from where we were catching the trout! Kept five for the frying pan.

Good job Laker. Can not beat a mix menu like that. Great color on the trout also.

No fishing for me right now. It was 7 degrees and windy when I woke up this morning in Athens. With windchill it had to be below zero. I'm not playing in weather like that since I left CO. Used to go ice fishing up there. Too old for that now! Pour me another cup of coffee and lets see what is on the tv.

Nice haul guys! Area rivers are very trout active right now!



Side Note: Did you catch any on the fly?

Thanks Chuck and Flags for the replies! Chuck: I caught a bunch on the fly! I also used my spinning gear and caught plenty with the trusty gold Super Duper! Jeff caught the sunnies on worms retrieving them very slowly on the bottom.




Side Note: Jeff was using a wide variety of small lures.
