I have been tossing around the idea of getting a Hydrowave but I just have this feeling that its a gimmick. Has anyone experienced a difference in getting bit in an area once you turn on the Hydrowave? Going from getting no bites to getting bit just by turning on a wave?

You're new... This is one of those "Ford vs. Chevy vs. Over the TP roll vs. Under" kind of deals. It is split about 60/40 on the side of gimmick.

My boat came with one, it ended up in the trash because I couldn't find anyone to buy it. While we're at it, save your money and use big game mono on all set ups, forget about the fluoro and braid. Bullet is the best boat out there. F250 Platinum is the best truck to pull it with.

Only if you marry an 18 yr. old rich blond with a new Ranger 522 and owns a 1000 acre ranch in east Texas, other wise for get it. But if that fails I'll sell you mine CHEAP.

My "scientific" experiment was to buy the $99.00 battery operated one to hang off of my dock for when the grandkids came. I can't say for sure that it helped the fishing because I feed the bluegills. What I can say is that the Cormorants pecked the heck out of the speaker - I pull it up, they go away. I drop it down, back they came. I would never do this, but it could be a great way to get rid of those pesky creatures.
When the Classic was in Tulsa, I asked several of the Elite sticks if it was for real. The consensus was that if nothing else, it helped mask the sound of the trolling motor & the ping of the electronics. However, one non sponsored pro said that "When VanDam had the only prototype, he was dominant. Now that they all have access, the field has leveled considerably." Maybe that's the reason for the consensus.

Show me a predictor than can not be called. That is my opinion. Yes you still have to catch fish, and you still have to be around them. However, I can show you where it pulls fish off the bottom. Or closer to the boat when schooling.

I asked a full time guide and tournament angler that I respect the other day about his and he said that he has experimented extensively with it. His best results have been when an area quits producing he changes the sound pattern and that can often times start the fish feeding again.

My last 2 boats already had them installed. I tried them out several times and never noticed anything different. Me personally, I wont ever purchase one.

yes they work, witnessed it first hand on a guide trip at Fork. I'd love to have one on my boat. Like anything they have their time and place.

I've had one for about 3 yrs now and I can definitely say that is the million dollar question. I've been skunked as many time with it on as when I forget to turn it on. I hear everytime this question comes up, oh yeah the fish get more active attaches bait from thin air. I haven't seen any advantage but it was a gift from my significant other so I keep it on the boat and use it. But would I buy another one, no.
BTW, if it was so great why isn't Jeff Kreit winning more? Just asking
