Hey guys,
I just got my 360 mounted on the ultrexx. I havent had the chance to get it on the water.
Have you seen any issues with travel on rough water as far as stability?
It is linked to a Helix 10. Any tweaks for image quality other than standard sensitive/ contrast adjustments?
Thanks for your time.

The 360 will bounce in rough water but it wont flex enough to hit the TM shaft, you get used to it after some initial concern.
The picture quality isnt your typical SI or DI quality so I never had any luck with tweaking any settings other than color and full circle or front half.
I remember giving up on it at one point because it just wasnt producing more fish for me (it was showing me more targets to cast to though), and then one day we were fishing this creek channel and I looked down and thought I noticed what could be a school. I started following it with the trolling motor and we chased that school for about 60 yards and where able to pluck 2 out of it. That was the day I figured out what I was looking for on the screen.

CD Some of the pros with the Ultrex version either remove it or put a block between the shaft and trolling motor shaft with a strap when navigating in big water. To lessen the flex you can just adjust it so it is just submerged rather than extended as far as possible. This is one that removed his and has it held on the deck with a rod strap: Did not save a picture of one using a block between the shafts, may have been on the same body of water though.

I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the 360 mounts before. the ultrex mount is new but it appears to be better mounted than the older units.

Thanks for the idea about the block. I think I might try to carve something out of the rigid foam that the transducer was packaged in and use a velcro strap to stabilize it.

There is no need to brace the unit, as I mentioned above it is just a little flex and not enough to hit the TM shaft or other obstacle (unless you mount something close to it). It concerned me at first too, but I figured since it was warrantied for the first year I would just see what it could handle and I never had an issue with hit anything.
